What is the Till Float? It's a cash fund that is the source of change for customers who pay in cash. It is kept in the cash register.

❗ Use for other expenses or as petty cash is forbidden.

Key Points Max 500 euros (or equivalent - currency converter here) for cash drawer. Only the Finance and Retail Head can consider amendments. Where the till float shall be kept: During opening hours → locked in the cash drawer. When the store is closed→ locked in the safe. Till Float Limits 5.000 euros (or equivalent - currency converter here). Counting > who, when, how Who: two people (one must be a manager depend by store dimension) When: opening, closing, cash transfer from the cash drawer to safe, shift change (when designated cashiers are in place) How: under CCTV cameras, using a counting sheet undersigned by the two counters. Transferring cash to the safe First, count it following the counting instruction above. Keep an amount equal to the initial till float in the cash drawer. Transfer cash to the Safe in a closed, sealed envelope, reporting outside the cash amount, time, till number and signature of the individuals performing the transfer. A keyholder of the safe key/code shall perform the transfer, checking the correctness of the amount declared. No clients should be present during the transfer. Cash counting shall not be done in front of clients.
